Review #123: Nikka Coffee Malt

The Nikka Coffee Malt comes from Suntory’s Miyagikyo distillery outside Sendai Japan. Coffey Malt is one of the few 100% malt whiskies distilled in a column (Coffey) still, as opposed to a pot still. Coffey Stills were the first continuous stills invented and can run continuously without needing to be reloaded every time. The whiskey has been a mainstay at bars until the recent uptick of whiskey consumption (particularly Japanese whiskies) drove Nikka to temporarily… Read More

Lizzo Blasts The Met Gala For Lack Of Food & Tequila Last Year

Apparently, there’s a reason why the Met Gala is known for Moschino and Burberry, and not Moscow Mules and bruschetta. According to Lizzo, that’s because there’s hardly any food or booze at the annual extravaganza. Ahead of tonight’s Met Gala, at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, Lizzo went on Instagram Live and trashed last year’s gala because of its lack of food and cocktails, plus long lines. On Penis Envy | Best Food Photography

We’ve done a lot of posts recently on food photography equipment. Mostly that’s what people seem to want to read about. Which is totally understandable: to those just starting out in food photography, and struggling to achieve the kind of photographic results they see others producing, it can easily appear that the answer to their quest lies in technology and technique. If only you could work out what special bits of gear the pros are using then your photographs would look just like theirs too. Except that’s not actually how it works. To be sure, struggling with inappropriate, malfunctioning, or… Read More
